Merledene Whitten 
Merledene was born on September 15th, 1916 in Tolbert, Wilbarger Co., Texas.1 Merledene's father was Robert Glover Whitten and her mother was Ruth Simmonds. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Weir Johnson Whitten and Lucy Emma Davis; her maternal grandparents were Horace Greely Simmonds and Truzilla Thompson. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Hubert Lloyd, Stanley Rayworth, Robert Greely, Charles Rex, Harold Jolene, Geraldine and Elizabeth Jane. She was the third oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 81 on August 8th, 1998 in Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas. She was buried on August 10th, 1998 in Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas, Laurel Land Cem..1 1 -
