Hubert Lloyd Whitten 
Hubert Lloyd was born on February 25th, 1912 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.1 Hubert Lloyd's father was Robert Glover Whitten and his mother was Ruth Simmonds. His paternal grandparents were Robert Weir Johnson Whitten and Lucy Emma Davis; his maternal grandparents were Horace Greely Simmonds and Truzilla Thompson. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Stanley Rayworth, Robert Greely, Charles Rex, Harold Jolene, Merledene, Geraldine and Elizabeth Jane. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 84 on November 12th, 1996 in Vernon, Wilbarger, Texas. He was buried on November 14th, 1996 in Crowell, Foard, Texas.1 1 General Notes

Served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was recalled to active duty during the Korean War. Was assigned to mine sweepers during WWII. Worked mostly in Crowell, Texas for Buster Cates Construction Co. operating heavy machinery. Moved to Pampa, Texas ~1959 to work for the City of Pampa. He worked there until his retirement in ~1976, shortly after his wife, Mary, died. He then moved to Vernon, Texas. He bought a house at 1110 Wichita St. and lived there for several years until it was necessary for him to enter a nursing home. He remained in the Vernon Care Center for~2 years until his death on November 12, 1996. Mike Whitten
