Elizabeth Jane was born on January 1st, 1853 in , Bell County, Texas.1 Elizabeth Jane's father was John Ross Kegans and her mother was Clarinda Pevehouse. Her paternal grandparents were James Kegans and Mary Ross; her maternal grandparents were James Pevehouse and Mary (Polly) Hodge. She had three brothers and four sisters, named James, John, William Foster, Nancy, America, Elsie and Mary. She died at the age of 66 on September 1st, 1919 in , Bell County, Texas.
