James C Halbert 
James C was born in 1838.1 James C's father was Pleasant Halbert and his mother was Nancy Crawford. His paternal grandparents were James Halbert and Elizabeth Smith; his maternal grandparents were John Crawford and Margaret Buchanan. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John T, Pleasant W, William C, Martha A, Margaret C, Mary J and Emily Naomi. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Isaac Buchanan, Laura G and Tulia.General Notes
