Emily Naomi was born in 1846.1 Emily Naomi's father was Pleasant Halbert and her mother was Nancy Crawford. Her paternal grandparents were James Halbert and Elizabeth Smith; her maternal grandparents were John Crawford and Margaret Buchanan. She had four brothers and three sisters, named James C, John T, Pleasant W, William C, Martha A, Margaret C and Mary J. She was the second youngest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Isaac Buchanan, Laura G and Tulia.General Notes
