His paternal grandparents were Joel Dickinson and Clarissa Almira Rippetoe; his maternal grandparents were Edwin Leroy Dickinson and Mary E. Evans. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Thomas E. "Tommy", William O. "Willie", James Lafayette, John "Charley", David "Daniel", A. Leonidas "Lonza", Mary Clarissa, Eula L. and Sarah Bell. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Archie Alfred, Henry Ernest, Amie Veron and Gertrude Alva. He died at the age of 56 on October 10th, 1923 in Kirkland, TX.
