Andrew Buchanan 
Andrew was born on November 12th, 1783 in Washington, Virginia.1 Andrew's father was Matthew Buchanan and his mother was Elizabeth Edmiston. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Buchanan and Johanna Hays; his maternal grandparents were William Edmiston and Agnes Holmes. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named William, Samuel, Nancy, Joanna, Jannet, Isabella, Martha, Margaret and Mary. He was the oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 85 on November 20th, 1868 in Lincoln County, Tennessee.1 General Notes
