James Skeen 
James was born about 1772 in Rowan County, North Carolina.1 James' father was Matthew Skeen and his mother was Ruth Lamar. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Jacob, Matthew, Verlinda, Jane, Tabitha, Rutha and Sarah. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died in 1838 in Davidson County, North Carolina.General Notes
