Martin Hancock 
Martin was born on January 10th, 1801 in Franklin County, North Carolina. Martin's father was John Hancock and his mother was Jane Skeen. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Hancock and Mildred Dawson; his maternal grandparents were Matthew Skeen and Ruth Lamar. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, Mathew, John, Benjamin, Judge, Jane, Sarah and Kathy. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 62 on February 2nd, 1863 in Harrison or Ornage County, Indiana.-
