Edmonia Isabel was born on February 5th, 1859 in Trimble County, Kentucky. Edmonia Isabel's father was John Ferguson Butler and her mother was Frances Jane Farley. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Farley Butler and Nancy Walden; her maternal grandparents were Forest Farley and Frances Ellington. She had three brothers and eight sisters, named William , Joseph Forest, John Breckinridge, Mary Elizabeth, Mary Frances, Martha Reeves, Nancy Ann, Eunitia Ann, Elizabeth Wright, Sophia White and Ella Edwina. She was the youngest of the twelve children.General Notes
