Thomas Simpson was born on September 19th, 1930 in Pomaria, South Carolina.1 Thomas Simpson's father was Thomas Maxie Boland and his mother was Julia Winifred (Winnie) Long. His paternal grandfather was Joe Boland; his maternal grandparents were Jacob William Long and Mamie Ellen Shealy. He had a brother named Joe William. He had a half-brother named Tommy. Thomas Boland
Little Mountain - Services for Thomas Simpson Boland, 68, of 151 Pomaria
St., will be held at 11 a.m. today at Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, with
burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the
church fellowship hall immediately following the service. McSwain-Evans
Funeral Home of Newberry is in charge.
Mr. Boland died Saturday at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center. Born in
Pomaria, he was a son of the late Thomas Maxey and Julia Winifred
"Winnie" Long Boland. Mr. Boland was a veteran of the Korean Conflict
and was a survey party chief for the South Carolina Department of
Transportation. He was a member of Mount Tabor Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Estelle Shealy Boland; sons and
daughter-in-law, Wayne and Ginny Boland and Ronnie Boland, all of Littel
Mountain; grandson, Tommy K. Boland.
