Sarah Virginia was born in 1815.  Sarah Virginia's father was Richard Forrester and her mother was Elizabeth (Lizzie) Cotham.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Cotham and Elizabeth Griffin. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Hezekiah, Josiah, Silas, Jeremiah, Arthur, Richard, Laura, Dinah and Lucinda.  She was the nineth oldest of the ten children.
