Joseph Cowan

Joseph was born in 1774. Joseph's father was Mathias Cowan and his mother was Rachel Ellen Gray. His paternal grandparents were Hugh Cowan and Ann Mathias. He had two brothers and six sisters, named James, George, Martha, Mary, Anne, Elizabeth, Rachel and Sarah. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 80 in 1854.
