George Cowan

George was born in 1776. George's father was Mathias Cowan and his mother was Rachel Ellen Gray. His paternal grandparents were Hugh Cowan and Ann Mathias. He had two brothers and six sisters, named James, Joseph, Martha, Mary, Anne, Elizabeth, Rachel and Sarah. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 85 in 1861.
