Zilpha, known as Zilpha, was born in 1822 in Muscogee Co, Georgia.  Zilpha's father was Wiley CANNON and her mother was Charlotte SHEPPARD.  Her paternal grandparents were Nathaniel CANNON and Frances SUMNER. She had nine brothers and two sisters, named James, Lemuel, Wherry Or Whorry, Lewis, John, Elbert, David, Jessie, Robert, Melissa and Sarah.  She was the second oldest of the twelve children.
