Jessie, known as Jessie, was born in May 1836 in Muscogee Co, Georgia.  Jessie's father was Wiley CANNON and his mother was Charlotte SHEPPARD.  His paternal grandparents were Nathaniel CANNON and Frances SUMNER. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named James, Lemuel, Wherry Or Whorry, Lewis, John, Elbert, David, Robert, Melissa, Zilpha and Sarah.  He was the second youngest of the twelve children.  He diedApr 6th, 1909 in Cass Co, Texas.
