Wherry Or Whorry, known as Wherry Or Whorry, was born in 1827 in Muscogee Co, Georgia.  Wherry Or Whorry's father was Wiley CANNON and his mother was Charlotte SHEPPARD.  His paternal grandparents were Nathaniel CANNON and Frances SUMNER. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named James, Lemuel, Lewis, John, Elbert, David, Jessie, Robert, Melissa, Zilpha and Sarah.  He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children.
