William Newiss

William was born on July 6th, 1857 in Low Plain Bishopside, Pateley Bridge.¹ William's father was John Newiss and his mother was Mary Turner. His paternal grandparents were William Newis and Ursula Kitson; his maternal grandparents were Phillip Turner and Ellen (Unknown). He had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas Ibbotson, Thomas Ibotson, Thomas, Elizabeth, Hannah and Priscilla. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 84 on January 8th, 1942 in Crewe.
