Elizabeth Newiss

Elizabeth was born on October 15th, 1855 in Aldfield, Ripon, Yorkshire, England.¹ Elizabeth's father was John Newiss and her mother was Mary Turner. Her paternal grandparents were William Newis and Ursula Kitson; her maternal grandparents were Phillip Turner and Ellen (Unknown). She had five brothers and two sisters, named William, John, Thomas Ibbotson, Thomas Ibotson, Thomas, Hannah and Priscilla. She was the oldest of the eight children.
