Mary was born on November 11th, 1621 in Eckington, Derbyshire, England.  Mary's father was Thomas STANIFORTH and her mother was Anne (UNKNOWN).  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas STANIFORTH and Margaret SCOTTE.  She had a brother and seven sisters, named George, Anne, Elizabeth, Troth, Anne, Jane, Margaret and Jane.  She was the third oldest of the nine children.
