Alexander of Buchan was born on June 14th, 1350 in Dundonald, Ayrshire, Scotland.  Alexander of Buchan's father was Robert II Stuart and his mother was Elizabeth Mure.  His paternal grandparents were Walter Stewart and Margaret De Bruce; his maternal grandparents were Adam of Rowallan Mure and Janet Danzielstour. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Walter, Robert of, Robert III, Margaret, Jean, Marjorie, Elizabeth and Katherine. He had eleven half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Walter, David, John, James of Kinfauns, John of Arntullie, John of Burley, John of Caridney, Alexander, Alexander of Inverlunan, Thomas, Walter, Margaret, Jean, Isabel Eufeme and Egidia.  He died after August 1st, 1405 in Dunkeld, Perth, Scotland.
