Sarah (Sally) Hemings 
Sarah, known as Sally, was born in 1773 in Guinea,Cumberland,Virginia.1 Sally's father was John Wayles and her mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Hemings. Her paternal grandparents are UNKNOWN Wayles and Unknown UNKNOWN; her maternal grandparents are Captain John Hemings and Biabaye Eppes. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Robert, James, Peter, Thenia and Critty. She was the youngest of the six children. She had two half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named John Nelson, Martin, Elizabeth, Tabitha, Anne, Patsy, Lucy, Mary, Betty and Nancy. She died at the age of 62 in 1835 in Charlottesville,VA.1 General Notes
She was first "property" of John Wayles (who was also her father); but upon his death, she, and her brothers and sisters, were willed to his daughter Martha (wife of Thomas Jefferson). Sally (after receiving a small pox innoculation) accompanied Martha Jefferson to France at her Father's request. Durring the month of April 1789, records show that Thomas Jefferson spent a total of 216 francs on clothing for Sally, which suggests that he may have begun having relations with her at that time since he was not in the habit of buying things for his slaves.

Sally and Thomas were married in a religious ceremony on April 6th, 1789 in Paris,France. They had four sons and three daughters, named Thomas Corbin, William Beverly, Madison, Eston, Harriet, Thenia and Harriet.

William Beverly was born in 1798 in Shadwell,Abemarle Co.,VA. He died after 1822 in Washington DC.
Madison Hemings
Madison was born on January 18th, 1805 in Monticello,Abemarle Co.,VA. He died at the age of 72 in 1877 in Pike Co.,Ohio. He was buried in Williams Cemetery,Ross Co.,Ohio.
Eston Hemings
Eston was born on May 21st, 1808 in Abermarle Co.,VA. He died about 1854 in Wisconson.
