Madison Hemings 
Madison was born on January 18th, 1805 in Monticello,Abemarle Co.,VA. Madison's father was Thomas Jefferson and his mother was Sarah (Sally) Hemings. His paternal grandparents were Col. Peter Jefferson and Jane Randolph; his maternal grandparents were John Wayles and Elizabeth (Betty) Hemings. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Thomas Corbin, William Beverly, Eston, Harriet, Thenia and Harriet. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He had four half-sisters named Patsy, Jane Randolph, Maria and Lucy Elizabeth. He died at the age of 72 in 1877 in Pike Co.,Ohio. He was buried in Williams Cemetery,Ross Co.,Ohio.General Notes
BIRTH: He was named by Dolly Madison who was visiting Monticello at the time of his birth.
Although he could have passed as a white man he kept his black identity.
