Madison was born on January 18th, 1805 in Monticello,Abemarle Co.,VA.  Madison's father was Thomas Jefferson and his mother was Sarah (Sally) Hemings.  His paternal grandparents were Col. Peter Jefferson and Jane Randolph; his maternal grandparents were John Wayles and Elizabeth (Betty) Hemings. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Thomas Corbin, William Beverly, Eston, Harriet, Thenia and Harriet.  He was the second youngest of the seven children. He had four half-sisters named Patsy, Jane Randolph, Maria and Lucy Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 72 in 1877 in Pike Co.,Ohio.  He was buried in Williams Cemetery,Ross Co.,Ohio.



Madison's family with Mary Hughes *Mc Coy

‌Madison and Mary Hughes were married in a religious ceremony on November 21st, 1831 in Charlottesville.  They had four sons and seven daughters, named Son, Thomas Eston, William Beverly, James Madison, Sarah, Harriet, Mary Ann, Catherine Jane, Julia A., Ellen Wayles and Jane.
