Robert Hemings 
Robert was born in 1762 in Guinea,Cumberland,Virginia. Robert's father was John Wayles and his mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Hemings. His paternal grandparents are UNKNOWN Wayles and Unknown UNKNOWN; his maternal grandparents are Captain John Hemings and Biabaye Eppes. He had two brothers and three sisters, named James, Peter, Thenia, Critty and Sally. He was the oldest of the six children. He had two half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named John Nelson, Martin, Elizabeth, Tabitha, Anne, Patsy, Lucy, Mary, Betty and Nancy. He died at the age of 57 in 1819 in Richmond.-
