Samuel Ayres 
Samuel was born on July 19th, 1774. Samuel's father was Nathan Ayres Col. and his mother was Mary Christian Leake. His paternal grandparents were Matthias Ayres and Elizabeth Hales; his maternal grandparents were Walter Leake , Jr. and Judith Mask. He had five brothers and five sisters, named John (Parson Jack), Nathan, Walter Leake, Matthias, Peter Leake, Judith, Elizabeth (Betsy) Hales, Mary Agnes (Polly), Jane (Jean) and Martha (Patsy). He is the third oldest of the eleven children.-
