Elizabeth (Betsy) Hales Ayres 
Elizabeth (Betsy) Hales was born on February 26th, 1784 in Buckingham County, Virginia.1 Elizabeth (Betsy) Hales' father was Nathan Ayres Col. and her mother was Mary Christian Leake. Her paternal grandparents were Matthias Ayres and Elizabeth Hales; her maternal grandparents were Walter Leake , Jr. and Judith Mask. She had six brothers and four sisters, named John (Parson Jack), Samuel, Nathan, Walter Leake, Matthias, Peter Leake, Judith, Mary Agnes (Polly), Jane (Jean) and Martha (Patsy). She was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 77 in 1861 in Woodsonville, Ky.2 -
