Walter Leake Ayres 
Walter Leake was born on April 6th, 1779 in Buckingham County, Virginia.1 Walter Leake's father was Nathan Ayres Col. and his mother was Mary Christian Leake. His paternal grandparents were Matthias Ayres and Elizabeth Hales; his maternal grandparents were Walter Leake , Jr. and Judith Mask. He had five brothers and five sisters, named John (Parson Jack), Samuel, Nathan, Matthias, Peter Leake, Judith, Elizabeth (Betsy) Hales, Mary Agnes (Polly), Jane (Jean) and Martha (Patsy). He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 59 on May 21st, 1838 in Woodford County, Kentucky.1 -
