Matthias Ayres 
Matthias was born about 1700 in London, Middlesex, England.1 He died about 1782 in Buckingham County, Virginia.1 General Notes
built "Mine House" in 1759 Mathias owned 2000 acres in Albemarle Co., in 1757 Mathias owned 3100 acres in Albemarle Co., in 1783 at the time of his death Thomas, Edmond, & John Ayres owned land in Va. as early as 1657 Benjamin & Thomas Ayres granted land in Va. in 1683 Prodigy, Janet Randall, gyxa29a emigrated from London 1720, by 1740 settled Buckingham Co., near Red Mills; moved to Slate R., about 2 miles from Buckingham Co., Courthouse; 1755 Matthias recieved 2000 acre land grant in Buckingham Co.
‌Matthias and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony in 1740.2 They had five sons and a daughter, named John Hales, Nathan, Edmond, Matthias, Samuel and Mary (Mollie).

John Hales was born in 1740.3 He died at the age of 88 in November 1828 in Buckingham, Virginia.3
Nathan Ayres Col.
Nathan was born in 1752 in Albemarle County, Virginia.5 He died at the age of 70 on January 16th, 1822 in Buckingham, Virginia.5
Edmond Ayres
Edmond was born about 1765 in Buckingham County, Virginia.2 He died in 1807 in Buckingham, Virginia.6
