Pierre I Mauclerc was born about 1190 in Dreux, Bretagne, France.  Pierre I Mauclerc's father was Robert II Capet and his mother was Yolande de Coucy.  His paternal grandparents were Robert I Capet and Agnes de Baudemont; his maternal grandparents were Sir Raoul de Coucy and Agnes De Hainault. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Robert III, Henri, Jean, Geoffroy, Aeléonore, Isabelle, Alix, Philippa, Agnés, Yolande and Jeanne.  He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children.  He died in May 1250.  He was buried in St. Ived De Braine, France.
