Matilda was born in June 1156 in Westminster Palace, London, Middlesex, England.  Matilda's father was Henry II Curtmantle Plantagenet and her mother was Duchess of Aquitaine Eläeonore.  Her paternal grandparents were Geoffrey V 'the Fair' Plantagenet and Matilda the Empress; her maternal grandparents were Guillaume X and Eläeonore De Chatellerault. She had six brothers and two sisters, named William, Richard I, Geoffrey, John, Henry IV 'The Young', Philip, Eleanor and Joana. She had five half-brothers and five half-sisters, named William, Peter, Duke of LIncoln, Richard of, Duke of Beverly, Rosamond, Matilda of, Marie, Alice and Mary.  She died at the age of 33 on June 28th, 1189 in Brunswick, England.

‌Matilda and Heinrich V "The were married in a religious ceremony in Minden, Saxony, Germany.  They had four sons and three daughters, named Heinrich IV "The, Otto, Prince of Saxony, Duke of Brunswick, Richenza, Princess of Saxony and Princess of Saxony.
