Isabel fitz Gilbert was born in 1173 in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales and her baptism took place in 84zx-1k.  Isabel fitz Gilbert's father was Earl Richard "Strongbow" deClare and her mother was Aoife (Eve) MacMurchadda of Leinster.  Her paternal grandparents were Gilbert deClare , Earl Of Pembroke and Isabel de Beaumont; her maternal grandparents were Diarmait MacMurchadda and Mor Ua Tuathail. She had four half-sisters named Basilia, Isabel Fitzgilbert, Elizabeth deClare Countess of and Isabel.  She died at the age of 47 in 1220 in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales.  She was buried in Tintern Abbey, Tintern, Monmouthshire, England.
