Isabel Fitzgilbert was born about 1172 in Pembroke,Pembrokeshire,Wales.  Isabel Fitzgilbert's father was Earl Richard "Strongbow" deClare and her mother was Eva (Aoife) McMurrough.  Her paternal grandparents were Gilbert deClare , Earl Of Pembroke and Isabel de Beaumont; her maternal grandparents were dermot MacMurrough King of Leinster and Mor Ingen Muirchertaig O'Toole. She had a sister named Basilia.  She was the younger of the two children. She had three half-sisters named Isabel fitz Gilbert, Elizabeth deClare Countess of and Isabel.  She died in 1220 in Pembroke,Pembrokeshire,Wales.
