Eva was born about 1194 in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales.  Eva's father was Earl William Marshal and her mother was Countess Isabel fitz Gilbert de Clare.  Her paternal grandparents were John (the Marshall) Fitz Gilbert and Sibilla (Sibyl) de Salisbury; her maternal grandparents were Earl Richard "Strongbow" deClare and Aoife (Eve) MacMurchadda of Leinster. She had a sister named Maud Matilda.  She was the older of the two children. She had a half-sister named Eva.  She died before 1246 in England.
