Henry II was born on March 5th, 1133 in le Manns,France.  Henry II's father was Geoffrey V Plantagenet , Count of Anjou and his mother was Matilda of England.  His paternal grandparents were Fulk V d'Anjou , King of Jerusalem and Ermengarde du Maine; his maternal grandparents were Henry I "Beauclerc" , King of England and Edith Matilda "Atheling" of Scotland. He had a brother and two sisters, named Curt Mantel, Emma and Emma. He had two half-brothers named Hamline and Hamline.  He died at the age of 56 on July 6th, 1189 in Chinon Castle,France.  He was buried in Fontevraud,Anjou,France.
