Maud was born in 1154 in Surrey,, England. Maud's father was Hamelin Plantagenet de Anjou Earl of Surrey and her mother was Isabel de Warenne. Her paternal grandparents were Geoffrey IV the Fair Angevin King of England and Mathilda (Adelaide) Queen of England; her maternal grandparents were William de Warenne III Earl of Warren & Surrey and Ala Talvas. She had a brother and two sisters, named William Plantagenet, Ida (Isabel) and Suzanne. She was the second oldest of the four children. She died at the age of 58 in 1212 in Hastings,, England.-
