Gundrada de St. Omer 
Gundrada was born in 1063 in Normandy, France.1 Gundrada's father was William I the Conqueror King of England and her mother was Matilda (Maud) de Flanders. Her paternal grandparents were Robert I the Devil Duke of Normandy and Herleva (Arlette) de Falaise; her maternal grandparents were Baudouin V the Pious Ct de Flanders and Adela (Alix) Capet de France Cts de Contenance. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Henry I Beauclerc, William II Rufus Normandy, Adela (Alice) and Sibylla. She died at the age of 22 on May 27th, 1085 in Castle Acre, Norfolk, England.2 General Notes

At one time it was thought that Gundred was the Daughter of William the
Conqueror. This has since been disproved. C. T. Clay, *Early Yorkshire Charters*, vol. VIII, Appendix A, pp. 40-46. Another reference, according to the second edition of Cokayne's *Complete Peerage*, vol. XII, part 1, p. 494, note (j), presents similar evidence is H. Prentout, *Etudes sur Quelques Points de l'Histoire de Guillaume le Conquerant*, pp. 29-56.
