Adela (Alice) was born in 1062 in Normandy, France.1   Adela (Alice)'s father was William I the Conqueror King of England and her mother was Matilda (Maud) de Flanders.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert I the Devil Duke of Normandy and Herleva (Arlette) de Falaise; her maternal grandparents were Baudouin V the Pious Ct de Flanders and Adela (Alix) Capet de France Cts de Contenance. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Henry I Beauclerc, William II Rufus Normandy, Gundrada and Sibylla.  She died at the age of 75 in 1137 in Marcigny sur Loire, France.2
