Simon de Montfort I was born in 1025 in Montfort Amaury, Eure, France.1   Simon de Montfort I's father was Amauri de Montfort I sn de Montfort and his mother was Bertrade de Gometz.  His paternal grandparents were William de Bastinbourg Ct de Hainault and Albreda de Montfort; his maternal grandfather was Guillaume de Gometz.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 62 on September 25th, 1087 in St. Thomas, France.1
