Richard I the Lionheart was born on September 8th, 1157 in Oxford, England.1   Richard I the Lionheart's father was Henry II Plantagenet and his mother was Eleanor de Aquitaine Dss de Aquitaine.  His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey IV the Fair Angevin King of England and Mathilda (Adelaide) Queen of England; his maternal grandparents were Guillaume X le Toulousan Duc de Aquitaine and Eleanor (Aenor) de Chastellerault. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William, Geoffrey, John Lackland Plantagenet, Henry, Maud Matilda, Alianor and Joan. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William Longespée, William, Agnes Capet, Marie Capet and Alix.  He died at the age of 41 on April 6th, 1199 in France.1
