Richard was born on October 7th, 1799.  Richard's father was Amos Glover and his mother was Drusilla Spurgin. He had four brothers and four sisters, named William, Joseph, Amos, Charles, Mary Ann, Elizabeth , Nancy  and Maria.  He was the oldest of the nine children. He had five half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Harrison, Alpheus, John, Martin, Elias, Julia, Matilda, Sarah and Eliza.  He died at the age of 87 on November 6th, 1886.
