Alpheus was born on March 26th, 1830.  Alpheus' father was Amos Glover and his mother was Elizabeth Gilmore. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Harrison, John, Martin, Elias, Julia, Matilda, Sarah and Eliza.  He was the second oldest of the nine children. He had five half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Richard, William, Joseph, Amos, Charles, Mary Ann, Elizabeth , Nancy  and Maria.  He died at the age of 42 on July 26th, 1872.
