William W. Webb

William was born on August 26th, 1838 in the Palestine Community, (Hickman County) Tennessee. William's father was John Webb and his mother was Elizabeth A. Mayfield (Webb). His paternal grandparents were Simeon Webb [theoretical] and Nancy --- (Webb Kirk) [theoretical]; his maternal grandparents were Elijah Mayfield and Elizabeth --- (Mayfield). He had five brothers and five sisters, named Uriah, Addison, John, James, Francis, Louisa, Julian, Elizabeth, Mary and Emeline. He was the second youngest of the eleven children. He died due to Civil War train wreck at the age of 24 on September 8th, 1862 in Bridgeport, Illinois. He was buried at the Rentfro Cemetery.
