Addison was born on June 1st, 1823 in the Palestine Community, (Hickman County) Tennessee. Addison's father was John Webb and his mother was Elizabeth A. Mayfield (Webb). His paternal grandparents were Simeon Webb [theoretical] and Nancy --- (Webb Kirk) [theoretical]; his maternal grandparents were Elijah Mayfield and Elizabeth --- (Mayfield). He had five brothers and five sisters, named Uriah, John, James, William, Francis, Louisa, Julian, Elizabeth, Mary and Emeline. He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 49 on May 1st, 1873 in Moultrie County, Illinois. He was buried at the Jonathan Creek Cemetery.
