Elizabeth was born on October 9th, 1829 in the Palestine Community, (Hickman County) Tennessee. Elizabeth's father was John Webb and her mother was Elizabeth A. Mayfield (Webb). Her paternal grandparents were Simeon Webb [theoretical] and Nancy --- (Webb Kirk) [theoretical]; her maternal grandparents were Elijah Mayfield and Elizabeth --- (Mayfield). She had six brothers and four sisters, named Uriah, Addison, John, James, William, Francis, Louisa, Julian, Mary and Emeline. She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.
