Myrtle was born in 1893 in Illinois. Myrtle's father was George P. Robb and her mother was Mary Catherine Hooten (Robb). Her maternal grandparents were James Martin Hooten and Harriet Ann Webb (Hooten). She had four brothers and a sister, named Floyd, Harry, Clarence, Clyde and Ivah.
