Maarten was born in 1761 in Zoetermeer and his baptism took place there on December 6th, 1761.1  Maarten's father was Maarten Jacobszn Rodenburg and his mother is Neeltje Jacobsdr Brugman.  His paternal grandparents were Jacob Arentszn Rodenburg and Trijntge Maartensdr Hogerscheijt; his maternal grandfather is Jacob Brugman and his maternal grandmother was N.N. N.N.. He had a brother and three sisters, named Arij, Pleuntje, Trijntje and Ariaantje.  He was the youngest of the five children. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Jacob Maertenszn, Willem, Dirck Maertenszn, Maerten and Trijntje.  Maarten is no longer alive.
