Jacob Maertenszn was born in 1710 and his baptism took place on October 19th, 1710 in Benthuizen.1  Jacob Maertenszn's father was Maarten Jacobszn Rodenburg and his mother was Pleuntje Jansdr Lelijveld.  His paternal grandparents were Jacob Arentszn Rodenburg and Trijntge Maartensdr Hogerscheijt; his maternal grandparents were Jan Dirkszn Lelijveld and Maartje Leendertsdr Vrijenoock. He had three brothers and a sister, named Willem, Dirck Maertenszn, Maerten and Trijntje.  He was the oldest of the five children. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Arij, Maarten, Pleuntje, Trijntje and Ariaantje.
