Philip was born in August 1729 in Heesbeen and his baptism took place on August 14th, 1729 in Aalburg.1  Philip's father was Caspar Jacobszn Mans and his mother was Maria Hendriks Verdoorn.  His paternal grandparents were Jacobus Mans and Michieltje Dirckx; his maternal grandparents were Hendrik Janszn Verdoorn and Magdalena Ariens van der Flier. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Jakobus, Hendrik, Arien, Hermannus Wilhelmus, Jan, Willem, David, Giliana Caspers, Johanna and Magdalena.  He was the tenth oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 70 on May 24th, 1800 in Wijk.1
