Magdalena was born in September 1720 in Aalburg and her baptism took place there on September 1st, 1720.1  Magdalena's father was Caspar Jacobszn Mans and her mother was Maria Hendriks Verdoorn.  Her paternal grandparents were Jacobus Mans and Michieltje Dirckx; her maternal grandparents were Hendrik Janszn Verdoorn and Magdalena Ariens van der Flier. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named Jakobus, Hendrik, Arien, Hermannus Wilhelmus, Jan, Willem, Philip, David, Giliana Caspers and Johanna.  She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.
