Johanna was born in November 1712 in Aalburg and her baptism took place there on November 6th, 1712.1  Johanna's father was Caspar Jacobszn Mans and her mother was Maria Hendriks Verdoorn.  Her paternal grandparents were Jacobus Mans and Michieltje Dirckx; her maternal grandparents were Hendrik Janszn Verdoorn and Magdalena Ariens van der Flier. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named Jakobus, Hendrik, Arien, Hermannus Wilhelmus, Jan, Willem, Philip, David, Giliana Caspers and Magdalena.  She was the second oldest of the eleven children.
